Biography
Alex earned both his undergraduate degree in music composition and his master's degree in music technology at The University of
Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ. Alex now teaches music technology and general education courses at UA. He also leads audio-visual and recording/streaming endeavors for multiple organizations, including UA and First Congregational Church of Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ. He regularly consults organizations on streaming and recording as simply as possible. Alex also teaches music production and audio engineering at Stark State College.
An active bassoonist, Alex regularly performs with numerous area ensembles. Currently, with the All Thumbs Bassoon Ensemble, which performs free concerts at public venues to educate people about the bassoon, he has helped establish an ongoing relationship with Cleveland-based composer Ryan Charles Ramer. The group performs musical works of Mr. Ramer’s, consisting of bassoon trio and voice, at various events and venues such as the Cleveland Composers Guild, local art galleries, and other public spaces. Alex currently serves as principal bassoonist, recording engineer, and board member for the Cleveland Repertory Orchestra. He also performs as principal bassoonist with other orchestras in the area, including the Tuscarawas Philharmonic and the trio of orchestras: Video Game Symphony, Press Play, and Cinematic Symphony.
